Dragon Boat Race started on May 5th,278 B.C.,when the renown patriotic poet,Qu Yuan,jumped into the Mi Luo River,shortly after his country was invaded.As people searched for the beloved poet along the river,the tradition of Dragon Boat Race is preserved in order to commemorate Qu Yuan.In Song Dynasty,the activity became popular in Guang Zhou,and in Ming Dynasty,Hai Zhu City became the center of the race.Right now,the 16th Asian Olympics is going to be held in Zenc City,and we look forward to the Dragon Boat Race,a sport as well as a past-time,that stands for patriotism and collectivism.
