I am of the same age as you中of不可省略.of the same age表示”有相同年龄的“,起到形容词的作用.如We are of the same weight（我们体重一样）.这个句子中as为定语从句引导词,you后省略了are,即这个句子也可以写成I am of the same age as you are.
