收到来信,是指到现在为止,我刚收到过一封哥哥的来信.现在完成时,是与现在有关的.如果是一般过去时,received那么就只表示发生在过去的事情,与现在无关.
如：I studied abroad 3 years ago,but now I am working in China.三年前在国外学习,但是现在在国内工作.三年前的行为,已经与现在无关了.
I have studied abroad for 3 years .说明已经在国外学习三年了,现在还在国外学习
I receieved a letter from my brother just now/yesterday/last week. 如果有个明确的过去的时间，就用过去时，否则表示到目前为止收到了，就用现在完成时。

有区别的 just是刚才的意思，说明已经收到，这个动作已经完成。用过去时的话只是陈述了收到信这样一件事情且发生在过去。 中文和英文在时态方面有很大的不同
