我举个例子吧.
1、I was telephoning a fridend when Bob came in.
为什么前面部分（I was telephoning a fridend ）用了过去进行时,而后面部分（when Bob came in）就用了一般过去时呢?
2、She didn't want to stay in bed while the others were working in the fields.
为什么前面部分用了过去进行时,而后面部分就用了一般过去时?
我就是在这方面不懂,不知道要用什么时态,是不是要结合中文意思来分析?我明天要考试了.

另如：We were playing outside when/while it began to rain. 我们正在户外玩, 那时天下起雨来了.
本句的意思是：我这给朋友打电话,这时鲍比突然进来.
2、在 She didn't want to stay in bed while the others were working in the fields. 代表了另种用法,
1）when 或 while 表示“当...的时候”
2）其特点是：
-- 主句：谓语动词是瞬间动词——She didn't want to stay in bed （want 是瞬时动词）
-- 从句：用while 和 when 谓语动词有所区别——
